We got our first snow/ice storm yesterday.

Meh.

It does however get me jazzed for hitting the slopes in February. But with only one trip planned at this point, anyone else want to go skiing this winter?

Update: well, MORE snow today, and still snowing… I feel better now.

Went to the Lindstrom’s house in West Virginia for Thanksgiving this year. Tim and Candy Lindstrom are college friends of my parents and we had this tradition growing up of swapping Thanksgiving vacation at each others houses. Well, it’s been about 10 years since I remember going, so this was the big reunion year. Unfortunately the Sweigarts and my mom couldn’t be there due to the birth of Kade, but we still had a blast.

One thing we did vow though was to never drive long distance around the Thanksgiving holiday again. The drive home was worse than bad. Dealing with traffic for literally 13 hours straight is something I don’t want to do again. (ok, ok, to be fair, Kate drove the first 2 hours)

Kate and I finished up two home remodeling projects this weekend. That should do us for about another year, or until we forget what a mess it was.

Kade Alexander Sweigart was born last night around 11:25pm. He’s a svelt 7lb 14oz and 19 or so inches. Luckily I was in Wichita today so I got to stop by for a few minutes and hold my little claw handed nephew. fun!
